Stegosaurus armatus (STEG-o-SAWR-us) is the largest and most well known of all the stegosaurs. It existed in
what is now North America in the Late Jurassic period. It was herbivorous.
Diet and Behavior[]
Stegosaurus ate flora that was close to the ground such as ferns and cycads. It was very protective over its offspring. If something was to approach it, the stegosaur would wave it's 4-spiked tail (thagomizer) and make it's plates "blush" by sending blood to them.
